One race later, Phone Time scored a half-length victory in the Gran Premio Raul y Raul E. Chevalier (Arg-G1) under a confident ride from Juan Carlos Noriega, who tallied his first Chevalier victory.

The Gilded Time colt rated comfortably behind pacesetter Don Petardo before powering past in deep stretch to win Argentina's first Group 1 turf race of the season for two-year-old males.

Don Petardo, third in last month’s Gran Premio Santiago Luro (Arg-G1) on the main track at Palermo, was 2 1/2 lengths clear of Santiago Luro runner-up and race favorite Que Chistoso in the ten-horse field.

Trained by Alfredo Gaitan Dassie, who saddled his second consecutive Chevalier winner, Phone Time completed 1,400 meters (6.96 furlongs) in 1:20.24 on firm turf to post his second straight victory after winning a 1,200-meter (5.97-furlong) maiden race on the turf at San Isidro on February 6. He improved his record to two wins from four starts for prominent Brazilian owner-breeder Haras Anderson.

Phone Time is out of the imported Phone Trick mare Shiny Happy and is a half brother to Brazilian Group 1 winner Norway Boy.
